Kathy Hwang ( Co-Founder )
specializes in creating strategies to deliver powerful brand experiences. She balances both technical and creative, with a BS in mechanical engineering from MIT and an MS in Industrial Design from Art Center College of Design.
As an engineer at General Motors, she gained expertise in hands-on analytical problem solving and manufacturing, managing large-scale warranty projects with engineers, designers, suppliers and plant quality control.
Previous design experience includes working at BMW DesignworksUSA in Research and Strategy to create a visual brand language for new products, and design customer touch points for the super-luxury market. She has also worked at Walt Disney Imagineering on concept development for new business initiatives.
Social entrepreneurship is one of Kathy’s key passions. She has worked with organizations around the world, from Thailand to India to the U.S. to support their ventures. She started a new strategy to improve design education through Ford Foundation that raised over $150,000 in additional funding and was taken forward to implement in LA public schools.
